Just another hot female teacher having sex with a minor, right? Just another statutory rape case laughed at and shrugged off the shoulders of the media, right?
Wrong.
Debra Lafave not only had sex with a minor—a 14-year old student, to be exact—but her lawyer also used this statement as a defense (I shit you not):
“To place Debbie into a Florida state women’s penitentiary, to place an attractive young woman in that kind of hellhole, is like putting a piece of raw meat in with the lions.”
There you have it, folks. She’s officially “too pretty” to be in jail.

She got off of a possible 30-year prison sentence—what she got was a three year house arrest charge, and seven years probation—because the boy’s mother feared for her sons mental health should the trial continue under the media spotlight.
She also got her probabtion charges ended four years early—because she’d recently become a mother, and god forbid a mom still pay for her past crimes!—, and she’s “completed the obligations”. The boys mother, thankfully, got the probation reinstated.
NEW RULE: If female rapist lawyers get to use, “my client is too pretty for jail,” THEN EVERYONE ELSE DOES TOO. This is a slap to the face for sexual assault and rape victims.
